Trappers Association

The Nelson House Trappers Association oversees the operation of the Trapping Program, comprised of a resource and land use coordinator, manager and Local Fur Council. The Program runs throughout the year, with the active trapping season open from early October until late May of each year. There are approximately 250 trappers who use the NCN Resource Management Area. In total, we have approximately 150 licenced trappers in the community. Seminars and workshops are held annually to teach and encourage youth to take part in trapping.
